Part P Inspection, Testing & Certification
'Part P' was added to the Building Regulations in 2005 to further protect homeowners against the risks associated with faulty electrical work. As a result, electrical work is now under statutory control in line with other types of building work.
After any work Alpha carry out we will issue an electrical safety certificate and a compliance certificate to confirm our work meets the requirements of the Building & Electrical Regulators.
Electrical Installation & Wiring
From light fittings and additional power outlets to complete home installations, Alpha can carry out the work to the highest standards.
In the UK, wiring installations are regulated by the IET. Alpha always consider energy efficient measures and can advise on individual Smart Electrical Installations based on the latest technology.
Lighting Control Systems
Better control of lighting can reduce costs by 30-50%, and significantly reduce carbon emissions at the same time, so long as the right decisions are made when selecting the lighting controls.
Lighting controls vary from simple on/off switches to building-wide, networked, automated, control systems. These systems are appropriate for all sizes and types of buildings; it is just a question of choosing the most suitable solution.
You can now control your home’s lighting, security system, entertainment systems, heating and appliances centrally and by remote control. Your home automation can be set up with your smartphone, tablet or PC for maximum convenience and comfort. For the elderly or infirm the ability to control their environment from an armchair is a huge benefit and improves quality of life.
Audio Visual Installations
Alpha can advise on the design and installation of the controls systems for your home entertainment set up. If you are considering the installation of a new home cinema we are qualified to install controlled lighted and audio visual integration to suit all budgets. Specialist high end equipment deserves the attention of an experienced installer to advise you how to get the best from your new audio visual investment.
Photovoltaic Solar Panels
Solar panel electricity systems, also known as solar photovoltaics (PV), capture the sun's energy using photovoltaic cells. These cells don't need direct sunlight to work – they can still generate some electricity on a cloudy day. The cells are usually fitted to a roof and convert the sunlight into electricity, which can be used to run household appliances and lighting.
Ground/Air Source Heat Pumps
Ground source heat pumps use pipes which are buried in the garden to extract heat from the ground. This heat can then be used to heat radiators, underfloor or warm air heating systems and hot water in your home. Air source heat pumps are usually easier to install than ground source as they don't need any trenches or drilling. We can advise on the best system for your needs. A ground source heat pump could lower your fuel bills and provide you with an income through the governments renewable scheme.
Fire Alarm Systems
British Standards dictate suitable types of wiring and cables for monitored or non monitored circuits according to the type of installation. Alpha are experienced in the fitting of all fire alarm circuit wiring with provision also made for end line devices to be fitted, to monitor potential line faults.
